The Family

Scott and Rachael have been married since 1995, and they made the crazy but happy decision to have six children - India, Holly, Eloise, Micah, Isaac, and Sophie. They live on the Darling Downs, in Queensland.

Scott, what's your story?

I grew up in Brisbane, and studied mechanical engineering at the University of Queensland (UQ). However, it wasn’t until I was working as an engineer for Bluescope Steel in Wollongong that I made the decision to follow Jesus in 1992.

God impressed on me that there was such a need for university students to hear about Jesus at this critical time in their lives, and I left engineering to start work with Power to Change back at UQ in 1994.

In the campus ministry, I have served the Lord at UQ, QUT, and in campus expansion work (“Catalytic” ministry) visiting practically every campus in the country.

Since 2020, I have headed up Power to Change’s Digital Ministry in Australia.

What about Rachael?

Rachael grew up in Tasmania and north Queensland, before moving to Brisbane to study an Arts degree at UQ. She became a Christian in 1990 through the ministry of Power to Change, and joined the organisation as a missionary for a year after uni, before travelling in the UK. She returned to Australia to marry Scott in 1995.

She has home-educated our children for around 18 years, while supporting Scott in his ministry with Power to Change. In 2016, she went back to uni to complete her teaching qualification, and since 2020 has worked full-time as a teacher in a Christian distance education college.

Scott, Rachael, Eloise, Micah, Isaac, and Sophie spent one of the best years of their lives in the UK in 2018-2019 with Agape (the sister ministry of Power to Change).
